Question Bank - Computer Networks

Here's the question bank on all the computer networks topics.

Given below are two statements: One is labeled as Assertion (A) and the other is labeled as Reason (R) :Statement I: In Caesar Cipher each letter of Plain text is replaced by another letter for encryption. Statement II: Diffie-Hellman algorithm is used for exchange of secret key. In the light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below:

A.
Both Statement I and Statement II are true
B.
Both Statement I and Statement II are false
C.
Statement I is correct but Statement II is false
D.
Statement I is incorrect but Statement II is true

Solution:

The correct answer is option 1 Caesar Cipher: It is one of the simplest techniques for encryption where each letter of a given text is replaced by a letter some fixed number of positions down the alphabet. For example, the text "ABC" can be encrypted using the Ceasar Cipher technique as "CDE". Here the shift (number of positions shifted) is 2.Diffie-Hellman algorithm: Diffie-Hellman algorithm is used for the exchange of secret key over an insecure channel.Once the key is shared by both the sender and receiver, then the communication is done using the shared symmetric keys.
