It helps to ease the learning pace of students.Environmental studies are the study of the environment where we live. It is more concerned with the scientific attitude to explore, investigate, and develop an understanding of our naturally occurring environment.The main aim of teaching environmental studies is to make students understand the complex nature of their surroundings and to make them aware and acquainted with their environment.After having taught the lesson 'What if it finishes' to Class V students, Sheela administered a test to know the level of understanding of students about the topic. To her surprise, she observed that a large number of students had not understood the related concepts. This could be mainly due to the reason that she did not use the correct methodology to teach the topic. This requires moving beyond traditional boundaries of disciplines and looking at priorities in a shared way.This approach has been followed for the present syllabus.Topics are not necessarily integratable and are neither close to the way the child relates to her world.Thus it is clear that this could be mainly due to the reason that she did not use the correct methodology to teach the topic.
