Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level Examination, often referred to as SSC CGL is an examination conducted to recruit staff to various posts in ministries, departments and organisations of the Government of India. The minimum and maximum age limit of the general candidates are 18 years and 32 years respectively. However, the reserved category students get the age relaxation for applying for the exam.
To apply for the SSC CGL 2023 exam, the aspirants should have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

SSC CGL 2023 Age Limit
Aspirants applying for SSC CGL must not be less than 18 years and cannot be more than 32 years of age (as on January 01, 2023).
The lower and upper limit of age varies for each post.
The age of candidates as present in the 10th/12th certificates will be considered.

SSC CGL Selection Process 2023 - Tier 1
Candidates who successfully submit the SSC CGL application form have to appear for the tier 1 exam first. The Tier 1 exam of SSC CGL 2023 was conducted from March 2 to 11 in online mode at various centres. The test consists of four sections - English language, General Awareness, Reasoning and Quantitative aptitude. The total duration of the online exam is one hour. Candidates will be awarded 2 marks for every correct answer while 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. As per the SSC CGL selection process 2023, candidates who clear the Tier 1 exam will be called for Tier 2 exam later.
SSC CGL 2023 Selection Process - Tier 2
SSC CGL Tier 2 exam consists of 4 papers. Paper 1 and paper 2 are compulsory for all candidates appearing in Tier 2 of SSC CGL. However paper 3 and paper 4 will be compulsory for candidates applied for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer. As per the SSC CGL exam pattern 2023 for paper 1,3 & 4, 0.5 marks will be deducted for the wrong answer while 0.25 will be deducted for paper 2 as a penalty. The duration of all the papers will be 2 hours. As per the SSC CGL 2023 selection process, qualified candidates from the Tier 2 exam will be called for descriptive paper later.
SSC CGL Tier 2 exam will be conducted online comprising four exams with about 100 or 200 (English) questions in each section and with maximum marks of 200. Candidates have to complete each Exam in 2 hours.

Step 1: Click on the official link for SSC CGL Apply Online which is provided above on this page or Go to the official website of SSC (https://ssc.nic.in/).
Step 2: The registration link for SSC CGL 2023 will open up in the new window.
Step 3: Click on New User / Register Now link.
Step 4: To begin with the online registration for SSC CGL 2023, a candidate needs to provide basic details of themselves like name, parents name, date of birth, email id, mobile number etc.
Step 5: Click on the submit button to submit your online registration form of SSC CGL 2023. It is advised that candidates verify their details before submitting the form. All the candidates will be issued Registration ID for SSC CGL 2023 exam.
Candidates are required to login with the provided Registration ID, date of birth and password to complete registration for SSC CGL 2023.
Step 6: In the next step, candidates are required to upload photographs and signatures by following the requisites mentioned by Staff Selection Commission of India.
Photograph - The photograph of a candidate must be clicked in front of white colour or light coloured background. The size of photograph must be more than 4 kb and less than 12 kb in size. The resolution of the photograph must be 100*120 pixels in width and height.
Signature - The signature provided by the candidate must be in black or blue ink on white sheet. The scanned copy of signature that needs to be submitted must be in jpg format and it should be more than 1 kb and less than 12 kb in size. The resolution of the image should be 40*60 pixels in width and height.
Step 7: Login with registered ID and password to complete the Part-II of the application form of SSC CGL 2023.
Step 8: After filling out the application form, candidates must preview the entire application of SSC CGL 2023 once to look for any glitches in the form, if any as the application form once submitted cannot be edited again.
Step 9: Click on the Final Submit button after previewing the complete online SSC CGL 2023 application form.
It is advised that Candidates download and get print copies of submitted application form of SSC CGL 2023.
Lastly, candidates can proceed to submit the application fee for SSC CGL 2023 either via online mode (through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards) or offline mode (through cash in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan). A candidate must pay Rs. 100/- as SSC CGL 2023 Online Application Fee. The category wise examination form fee details are given below:
