It was estimated that 52 men can complete a strip in a newly constructed highway connecting cities P and Q in 10 days. Due to an emergency, 12 men were sent to another project. How many number of days, more than the original estimate, will be required to complete the strip?

Concept:52 men can Complete the work in 10 days. Since 12 men were sent out.Remaining men left = 52 “ 12 = 40We know \(M_1D_1 = M_2D_2\) where, M = No. of Men, D = No. of DaysCalculation:Given:\(M_1\) = 52, \(D_1\) = 10, \(M_2\) = 40Let \(D_2\) = x = ?Now, x can be given by :\(M_1D_1 = M_2D_2\)52 × 10 = 40 × (x)x = \(\frac {52 \: \times \:10}{40} \)= 13? Total number of Days taken = 13 days i.e. 3 Days more than the original estimate.So, Option(1) is the Correct Answer.
