Statement I : Reflexivity refers to the manner in which speech and action are part of the social world in which they are situated.Reflexivity refers to circular relationships between cause and effect, especially as embedded in human belief structures.A reflexive relationship is bidirectional with both the cause and the effect affecting one another in a relationship in which neither can be assigned as causes or effects.A high level of social reflexivity would be defined by individuals shaping their own norms, tastes, politics, desires, and so on. This is similar to the notion of autonomy.Statement II : The term 'reflexivity' is a slippery concept because of 'For and against' arguments, and also because of different meanings.Reflexivity generally refers to the examination of ones own beliefs, judgments and practices during the research process and how these may have influenced the research.If positionality refers to what we know and believe then reflexivity is about what we do with this knowledge.Reflexivity involves questioning ones own taken for granted assumptions. Reflexivity is often termed as a "slippery" concept because its meaning can be interpretated in different manner.Hence, both Statement I and Statement II are correct.
