Reading is a process whereby a reader brings meaning to and gets meaning from print. Reading for meaning is the activity we normally engage in when we read books, journals, newspapers, etc. It involves looking at sentences in a text and understanding the message they convey, in other words, making pause of a written text.ERRQ technique (Estimate, Read, Respond and Question) is a reading strategy that aims or involves students in questioning and understanding the meaning of the text.Students estimate how far they can read with understanding in reading and then read that portion. They respond the information by reacting it and forming a question about it.This is a technique of comprehension that we learn in reading and is used to be skilled in reading comprehension.From the above points, we can make an inference that teachers can use the ERRQ technique (Estimate, Read, Respond and Question) to help students strengthen their reading skill.
