Festivals- It refers to a day or period of celebration, typically for religious reasons. Importance of teaching festivals in the classroom-Every religion and community has its festivals spread over the year. So far the celebration of national festivals i.e. Independence Day and Republic day never had to do anything with religion and community. But now we can see the same spirit in many religious or community-specific festivals.Festival serves as stress relievers and emotional balancers as they provide peace and pleasure. It allows the reduction of tension and the reunification of estranged friends and relatives in a connection of love.Unity in diversity-There are many factors of diversity in Indian society i.e. multiple races, numerous castes, all major religions different regions, and languages but by festivals, every person is tied with one thread.Teaching about festivals also let children know about the value of festivals in their life as the main objective of staging any festival includes recreation, socialization, and education.Hence, we conclude that the teacher is trying to deal with all the concepts mentioned above.
