Field visit- It refers to a visit to a factory, farm, or any other place by the teacher and students for the purpose of first-hand observation.The main purpose of conducting a field visit for students is to reinforce experiential and contextual learning. It enhances classroom learning by making real-world connectionsThe objectives of the theme "water" in EVS are to develop an understanding of the importance of water as a useful resource, knowing the source and uses of water and its conservation.The teacher will select the following sites for field trips-Water harvesting plant- By visiting a rainwater harvesting plant the children will be able to understand how rainwater is prevented from getting wasted through drains and gets stored for a useful purpose.Johads- It refers to a rainwater storage tank used in the state of Haryana and Rajasthan, that stores water throughout the year. By visiting johads the children will be able to learn about water conservation.Baolis- These are also known as stepwells and work constructed by the early rulers of Delhi as secular constructions that drew water from the ground during the dry season and captured rainwater during the monsoon for the use of the community.Hence, it is clear from the above points that the teacher should select A, B, & C sites for field-visit to show water conservation.Whereas khejadi are the trees mostly found in desert areas and they will not help children to learn about water conservation.
