Formative assessment refers to a range of approaches used by teachers to assess students' comprehension, learning needs, and academic progress during a lesson, unit, or throughout the course. it includes unit tests, monthly tests, quarterly tests, etc. Objectives of formative assessmentIts main goal is to provide constant feedback on learning successes and failures to both the teacher and the student while the lesson is in progress.It is used to track students learning progress throughout education.Feedback to students helps in effective learning while also identifying particular learning faults that need to be corrected.It provides qualitative information for making instructions and remedies more effective.The teacher uses formative assessment to qualitatively evaluate children's understanding, learning needs, and curriculum path.Hence, we conclude that the most appropriate objective of conducting a formative assessment in the learning of EVS is to assess the student's subject-wise progress.
