Which of the following assessment will be enjoyed by the students in an EVS class?

A.
Assessment through portfolio
B.
Paper pencil test
C.
Oral questions
D.
Sharing of feedback of paper pencil test

Solution:

Assessment is the process of gathering, interpreting, recording, and using information about learners' responses to an educational task.It helps in diagnosing the gaps in realizing the objectives of EVS and taking necessary measures to provide feedback to students about their progress and also motivating and guiding them in future learning.Portfolio- It is a systematically arranged compilation of students' work over a specific period of time.It is used by teachers and students to capture, review and analyze content learning in a controlled environment. Portfolios help students to think critically, and become active, self-regulated, and independent learners. It is one of the best tools for ensuring quality learning and student growth over a period of time.Portfolio assessment allows children to reflect on their actual performance, display their weak and strong domains, track their development throughout the learning process and encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning. It also makes learning enjoyable.Hence, we conclude that assessment through the portfolio will be enjoyed by the student in an EVS class.Whereas paper-pencil tests, oral questions, and sharing feedback on the paper-pencil test will not be enjoyed by the children as they do not allow the children to learn outside of the test material as well as limiting the value of the test.
