Assessment is the process of gathering, receiving and analysing data in order to improve the learning progress. There are three types of assessments: assessment for learning (formative assessment), assessment of learning (summative assessment) and assessment as learning (authentic assessment).Classroom behaviour- Observation of Children's behaviour in the classroom helps the teacher to assess their progress, understand their needs and personality, to improve teaching practices and plan the curriculum.It can help teachers to better understand the behaviour of children and their way of learning.It is essential for understanding young children as 'learners' and for learning more about them as people. It's an important aspect of the assessment and planning process.Hence, we conclude that classroom behaviours will be used by EVS teachers to assess the authentic learning of their students.Additional InformationPortfolio- It is a compilation of academic work and other forms of educational evidence of a student.Assignment notebooks- It is a notebook used by the children for writing their homework assignments. It is used as a way of communication for home school. It doesn't help in assessing all aspects of children learning. Quarterly tests- It refers to an examination given regularly every three months in schools. The personal abilities and attitudes of students cannot become evident from the test alone.
