IBPS Clerical Cadre exam is conducted by Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) every year for the recruitment of clerk posts in all over the country. The scorecard contains the candidate’s overall and sectional marks and category-wise IBPS Clerk cut off marks. The details printed on the scorecard are given below.
The scores of candidates are calculated based on the normalisation process. Normalisation of marks is done using the equi-percentile method. As the exam is conducted in multiple sessions, the question papers are different for different sessions. Normalisation process is followed to equate the difficulty level of question sets. The corrected scores obtained by each candidate in different sessions are normalised. Scores upto two decimal points are taken for the purpose of calculations. After normalization, final scores are rounded off up to two decimal digits.
The preliminary exam of IBPS Clerk comprised English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The total marks for the test were 100. Candidates were required to qualify in each of the three tests by securing the cut off marks. On the basis of IBPS Clerk result prelims, an adequate number of candidates in each category were called for the mains exam. The preliminary exam was qualifying in nature. The marks obtained in the preliminary exam are not counted for the final merit list.

The provisional allotment of candidates is subject to fulfilling the eligiblity criteria of participating banks including proficiency in Local Language of the State and identity verification. Candidates belonging to reserved category, selected on the basis of norms as applicable to General Category, has been treated at par with a General category candidate for drawing up the merit list. Such a candidate has not been adjusted against a reserved post. The mains exam comprised four sections: General/ Financial Awareness, General English, Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude, and Quantitative Aptitude. The total marks for the test are 200. The marks of the mains exam are considered for the final merit list.
The score obtained in the mains exam are considered for the final selection. The maximum and minimum scores of IBPS Clerk mains exam or final allotment are calculated out of 100 marks. The total weighted scores of the mains exam are calculated by aggregating the scores of all sections. Provisional Allotment of IBPS Clerk. The provisional allotment of candidates is done in the following manner:
• The marks of the mains exam are converted out of 100 for provisional allotment
• Candidates should qualify in the mains exam and be sufficiently high in the merit to be considered for the provisional allotment process
• The allotment is done depending on the vacancies state-wise and merit-cum-preference of candidates
• Candidates belonging to the reserved category selected as per the norms of General Category are treated at par with General Category candidates
• Such own merit candidates belonging to reserved categories who are allotted provisionally under the unreserved (General) category are not adjusted against a reserved post. Their original category, as registered in the online registration, remains unchanged
• The provisional allotment is subjected to candidates fulfilling the criteria for participating organization and verification of identity
• A letter of appointment is provided by the participating organization
• A reserve list, to the extent of approximately 10 per cent of the vacancies under each category, is maintained subjected to the availability of candidates.

In the case where two or more candidates obtain the same score, the merit order is decided as per the date of birth (candidates senior in age are given preference against the candidate junior in age).
