The Khuda Khidmatgar was a non-violent movement led by Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan, a Pashtun freedom fighter in the North-West Frontier Province. The members of Khudai Khidmatgar were organized and men wore bright red shirts as uniforms whereas women wore black garments. The Khudai Khidmatgar was against the partition and creation of the independent nation of Pakistan. Abdul Ghaffar Khan (1890-1988) was a follower of Mahatma Gandhiji and was called the Frontier Gandhi. The Ghaffar Khan entered politics in 1919 during the agitation over the Rowlatt Act (Allows confinement of political dissidents without trial). In 1920 he joined the Khilafat Movement and in 1921 he was elected president of a district khilafat committee in his native North-West Frontier Province.
