Given below are two statementsStatement I: DRAM consists of a number of transistors and capacitorsStatement II: DRAM needs to be constantly refreshedIn light of the above statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below

A.
Both Statement I and Statement II are true
B.
Both Statement I and Statement II are false
C.
Statement I is true but Statement II is false
D.
Statement I is false but Statement II is true

Solution:

DRAM is a form of RAM that stands for Dynamic Random Access Memory. Statement I: DRAM consists of a number of transistors and capacitors. DRAM is one type of RAM found in current desktops and laptops. It stores each bit of data in a memory cell. The memory cell of DRAM is made up of a small capacitor and a transistor. Thus, Statement I is true. Statement II: DRAM needs to be constantly refreshed. Robert Dennard invented DRAM in 1968In a DRAM each bit of memory data is stored as the presence or absence of an electric charge on a small capacitor on the chip. Memory cell caries data which required constant refresh otherwise it would be deleted. So, Statement II is true. Therefore, Both Statement I and Statement II are true.
